Hazbin Hotel's Creator Has Seen Fans' Second Season Predictions — And She Has Good News

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform this week, and fan speculation has been intense.

Season 1 introduces a large cast of personalities living within the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive fan obsession.

The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain threads recur frequently: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 moves, and how many of what they're waiting for happens this season.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a few fans make a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
