It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the record chasers, are the only things left for a team that has achieved everything.

It needed up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their batsmen to hold a record if not afforded the possibility.

In the end, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to create her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has witnessed all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory arrived three months after her first appearance and seven global championships have come from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Many contend the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was considerably tougher to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in training, it's been a disappointing period because I feel like I've had no rhythm whatsoever," commented Healy.

"But once you take the field, your competitive instincts activate and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from that point the batsman was underway.

"A chance to go out there and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

When she was removed the team needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the assurance to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if we do, we know we can do it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this championship should hear.

During the last week a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this victory coming after win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

So great is her will, she afterwards commented she regretted not playing through the pain.

Yet even as she later admitted those injuries have delayed consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is likely to be her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as skipper.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
